Hear Rosamond Bernier in person!

Three Thursdays, May 2007, 6:00pm

Metropolitan Museum of Art New York
Spring 2007 Lecture Series

Among the Stars in Paris and Beyond

Rosamond Bernier spent a perceptive lifetime among gifted people who were driving forces in their fields. As a young American in Paris, she founded a world-famous art review, L'OEIL, that attracted the help of Picasso, Matisse, Braque, Giacometti, Max Ernst, and Miró. Her personal interests won her the friendship of Yehudi Menuhin, Nadia Boulanger, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, and Simon Rattle. As an observer of the Paris couture scene she witnessed the birth of the New Look, the quirky originality of Schiaparelli, the reemergence of Chanel, and the long reign of the protean Karl Lagerfeld.  Come listen three Thursdays:

May 3rd
Publishing an Art Review: L'OEIL - the Hazards and Triumphs

May 17th
Great Musicians, Solos and Obbligatos - from Stokowski to Boulez.

May 24th
The Couture Parade - in Paris from Post-War Onwards

Please contact the host institution for details on lecture times and ticket information. If your organization is interested in sponsoring a lecture by Rosamond Bernier, please contact her via e-mail.
